Fadi Deek Welcome to the website of NJIT’s College of Science and Liberal Arts (CSLA). Whether you are a current or prospective student, a parent, an alum, or someone interested in the role of science and liberal arts in a technological research university, you will find information on this site about CSLA, our dynamic research faculty, and the rapidly developing curricula they provide for NJIT.

CSLA is committed to research-based teaching. As such, we provide a rigorous, broad, and relevant core curriculum in the sciences and liberal arts that establishes the foundation for professional and personal fulfillment for all students. Our nationally recognized faculty offers programs, from the bachelor’s through the doctoral level, with emphasis on multi-disciplinary interactions that reflect the unique interests of students and the pressing demands of the modern world. The mission of the college is to:

  • Conduct highest caliber scholarly research in the biological, mathematical, physical and social sciences; history and the humanities, and engage, student, academic, corporate and government partners in this research;
  • Prepare the next generation of leaders by providing a broad array of undergraduate and graduate programs and professional education opportunities
  • Advance multidisciplinary interactions - within the CSLA, NJIT, and the larger state, regional, national, and international academic and technology communities - in research, teaching, service, economic development, and the creation of intellectual property in order to address emerging contemporary issues;
  • Provide all undergraduates with the fundamentals needed for lifelong learning through the General University Requirements, superior and inspiring learning experiences, and dedicated teaching; and
  • Support the university’s Albert Dorman Honors College in offering an enriching environment for its academically talented students, enhancing their college experiences through an intellectually challenging and engaging curriculum.
