Program Details
The Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), in collaboration with universities and U.S. Army Research Laboratories and Centers, offers eight-week summer research internships for high school students. This program, hosted at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), focuses on the science and technology of optics, photonics, and imaging, with a special emphasis on biological and environmental sensors.
Student participants will engage in hands-on experiments and literature reading related to the science and technology of light, materials, and sensors. They will also attend weekly guest seminars led by expert scientists and engineers, learning how to formulate more impactful questions, and developing their presentation skills. Additionally, students will gain awareness of opportunities and careers in various aspects of the U.S. Department of Defense.

The program begins on June 17, 2024, and concludes on August 9, 2024.
